Terms of Use
The templates on this site are free to use for your own business, including commercially. There is no account, no licence to accept and nothing to attribute. These terms cover the few things that still need saying.
What you may do with the templates
Fill them in, download them, edit them, put your own logo and business name on them, and send them to your customers. Use them on paid work. Keep using them if this site disappears tomorrow — the file you downloaded is yours, and it is a plain Word, PDF or Excel document with no phone-home in it.
The one thing we ask you not to do is republish the templates themselves as your own downloadable template library.
What these documents are not
They are paperwork, not advice. A quote can be a binding offer, an estimate usually is not, and which is which depends on the wording and on the state you work in. Lien rights, licence number display, sales-tax treatment of labour versus materials, and mandatory right-to-cancel notices all vary by state and sometimes by county.
We write these templates to reflect what contractors normally put on the document, but we are not your lawyer or your accountant, and nothing here is legal, tax or licensing advice. If a job is big enough that the wording matters, have someone local read it.
No warranty
The site and the templates are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. We do not promise the templates fit your trade, satisfy your state’s requirements, or that the site will be available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from using them — including a job priced wrong, a payment not collected, or a document a court reads differently than you expected.
What you put in
Whatever you type into a template is yours and stays on your device; we never receive it. See the privacy policy for the short list of what we actually record.
Changes
The templates get revised as we learn what contractors actually need on them, and pages get added and removed. If we ever start charging for something, it will be for a feature that does not exist today — the templates on this page stay free.
